RECAP: Saint Louis FC v Oklahoma City Energy

Saint Louis FC traveled to Taft Stadium in OKC to play the Oklahoma City Energy, looking to end the season on a high note under interim Head Coach Tim Leonard.  The team was without James Musa, who was serving a red card suspension and captain Chad Bond who was pulled from the first 11 during pregame for Jamiel Hardware due to injury.

OKC struck 20 seconds in, Michael Byskov's picked out Timo Pitter who found the back of the net.  The Energy broke down the right flank and worked their way across the top of the 18-yard box.  Pitter's left footed shot across the grain found the lower right corner for the very early lead.  In the 21st minute, Shillo Tshuma found the back of the net to even the score.  Hardware's shot from 25 yards was spilled by goalkeeper Laurendi and Tshuma pounced for the tally.  Shortly after, in the 24th minute, Tyler David found the back of the net for the first time in his young career.  Patrick Doody's corner kick to the back post found Sam Fink.  Fink's header back across the six-yard box was deflected to the far side netting by Tyler David.  The lead would be short-lived.  In the 27th minute,  Michael Harris' throw in was not dealt with by the STLFC defense.  Danni Konig was there to head in the loose ball to draw the teams even.

Other notes for the high-scoring first half, Jordan Roberts picked up a yellow card in the 16th minute for a high boot at midfield.   Tyler David's goal was the first in his rookie professional season.

The second half started and ended in a stalemate.  The first moment to note was when St. Louis Scott Gallagher product, Aedan Stanley, took the field as a sub for Collin Fernandez in the 65th minute.  This marks the first minutes played by an SLSG Academy player for the professional side Saint Louis FC.  Brandon Barklage made his first appearance after missing several matches with injury.
