RECAP: Saint Louis FC v Oklahoma City Energy

Saint Louis FC vs OKC Energy FC Recap
St. Louis, MO – On a cool Wednesday night Saint Louis FC and OKC Energy FC played to a 1-1 draw in front of a crowd of 4,209 at Worldwide Technology Park.

The first goal came in the 19th minute when STLFC's Schillo Tshuma  found the back of the net after a scramble in front of the net. Energy FC goalkeeper CJ Cochran denied Tyler David from point blank range before Tshuma coolly slotted home his third goal of the season.

Throughout the first half the game became more physical and in the 32nd minute it boiled over when Tyler David and Cyprian Hedrick came together, causing a heated exchange between both teams. The game ended with 7 yellow cards being shown, (4 to STLFC, 3 to OKC).

Saint Louis FC had their opportunities to double the lead before halftime with Dixon, Tshuma and Roberts all coming close, but couldn't make their chances tell.

Energy FC made STLFC pay 12 minutes after the break as half-time substitute Daniel Gonzalez equalized with a long-range effort. Gonzalez picked the ball up 40 yards from goal and shook off a challenge before firing a low blast past Mark Pais from 25 yards out.

Saint Louis dominated the rest of the half but just couldn't see any results as the match ended in a stalemate. "We had a lot of heart and put our all out there for 90 minutes and I can't really complain with the effort there. Things aren't going our way for a moment, and it's a simple as that." James Musa.

"That was one of the better games we've had in a while, but it doesn't really count if we can't get the win.  It's tough to take." Jordan Roberts
Saint Louis FC's playoff chances are fading away with just 4 games remaining in the season but the team can still clinch a spot – if they win all their remaining games. "We all know every game is a must win and we got to put everything out there on the field to get that result." Mark Pais.

The team will be on the road as they look to rebound against FC Cincinnati this following Monday. The next home game will be Saturday, September 17th against Louisville City for the home leg of the Kings' Cup and the regular season finale.
