Saint Louis FC Falls 1-0 to Swope Park Rangers

It was a rainy evening in Kansas City, MO where Saint Louis FC took on in-state conference rival Swope Park Rangers. An early goal by Swope Park was enough to give them the upper-hand and take the game 1-0.

Swope Park Rangers started the game off with a goal in the first minute. Ryan Thompson saved a low Gonzalez shot, but Tyler Pasher was at the doorstep and punched it in. Saint Louis had a chance to equalize in the seventh minute with an Ambersley turnover passing to Herrera but the shot was saved.

Rain continued to pour down, forcing almost a two hour storm delay in the 37th minute. After a 90 minute delay, the teams did a quick warm-up before resuming play.

Things started to heat up for STL FC after the half, and rain continued to fall. The squad put together some opportunities but couldn't find an equalizer. The Swope Park defenders guarded Herrera heavily, only allowing him three shots during the game.

In the 90th minute a frustrated Herrera had a chance, but unfortunately the ball was shot right at SPR's keeper.

The game concluded after Swope Park managed to get behind the STL FC defense, only to miss the opportunity in added time and leave the game 1-0.

The coaching staff and players would like to thank the fans and supporters who made the trip across highway 70 for the match this evening.
