Saint Louis FC Announce Grinwis and Howe

St. Louis, MO – Saint Louis FC has announced the signing of goalkeeper Adam Grinwis and defender Ryan Howe for the 2017 season, pending USL and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.

Grinwis was born in Ada, Michigan and played for the University of Michigan from 2010-2014. He also made 29 appearances for Premier Development League (PDL) club Michigan Bucks during the 2012-2014 seasons, going on to win the USL PDL Championship in 2014. He then joined USL-side Rochester Rhinos and made 20 appearances over the 2015-2016 seasons.

“Adam brings a lot of athleticism to the goalkeeper position,” said STLFC General Manager, Jeremy Alumbaugh. “Last year, he gathered great experience in Rochester and has shown well here in the preseason. He commands the box well, has good feet and the ability to make a big save. He is another player with Championship experience as he won a PDL Championship with the Michigan Bucks in 2014.  We are excited to add Adam to the club.”

Howe was born in Rockford, Illinois and played for Loyola University of Chicago from 2012-2016. In 2016, he started all 18 games in a season culminating with the first NCAA Tournament appearance in Loyola Chicago program history. Howe would go on to play for the Ocean City Nor’easters in the PDL during the summer of 2016 as the club finished as Eastern Conference champions.

“Preki first identified Ryan this fall when we saw Loyola Chicago play against SIUE,” said Alumbaugh. “We were then able to see him at the Midwest PRO Combine in Detroit and our initial thoughts were validated. Ryan has a good engine which is important for outside backs in our system. He is an honest player, and with time he will continue to grow. Fans and Supporters alike will be pleased with his work-rate and effort to cover ground on the left flank.”
